A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Windows 2000/Server 2003/XP (Operating System) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown code of the component Font File Handler. Buffer overflow in the font processing component of Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP SP1 and SP2, and Windows Server 2003 allows local users to gain privileges via a specially-designed application.

The bug was discovered 04/12/2005. The weakness was published 04/12/2005 by John Heasman with NGSSoftware as MS05-018 as confirmed bulletin (Technet).
