Symantec Endpoint Encryption, prior to SEE 11.3.0, may be susceptible to a privilege escalation vulnerability, which is a type of issue that allows a user to gain elevated access to resources that are normally protected at lower access levels.
The weakness was released 06/17/2019 by Kyriakos Economou (kyREcon) with Nettitude as SYMSA1485 as confirmed security advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.symantec.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2019-9703 since 03/11/2019. The exploitation is known to be difficult. Attacking locally is a requirement.
