A vulnerability was found in AudioCodes Mediant 500L-MSBR, Mediant 500-MBSR, Mediant M800B-MSBR and Mediant 800C-MSBR F7.20A and classified as critical. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Internal Interface. The manipulation of the argument Password with the input value 1234 leads to a credentials management vulnerability. An issue was discovered on AudioCodes Mediant 500L-MSBR, 500-MBSR, M800B-MSBR and 800C-MSBR devices with firmware versions F7.20A to F7.20A.251. An internal interface exposed to the link-local address 169.254.254.253 allows attackers in the local network to access multiple quagga VTYs. Attackers can authenticate with the default 1234 password that cannot be changed, and can execute malicious and unauthorized actions.
The weakness was shared 07/20/2019. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2019-9229 since 02/28/2019. Access to the local network is required for this attack to succeed.
