Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in McAfee Data Loss Prevention up to 11.2.x (Data Loss Prevention Software). Affected is some unknown functionality of the component ePO Extension. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in a Command ('Command Injection') in ePO extension in McAfee Data Loss Prevention (DLP) 11.x prior to 11.3.0 allows Authenticated Adminstrator to execute arbitrary code with their local machine privileges via a specially crafted DLP policy, which is exported and opened on the their machine. In our checks, the user must explicitly allow the code to execute.
