A vulnerability was found in postgresql versions 11.x prior to 11.3. Using a purpose-crafted insert to a partitioned table, an attacker can read arbitrary bytes of server memory. In the default configuration, any user can create a partitioned table suitable for this attack. (Exploit prerequisites are the same as for CVE-2018-1052).
The bug was discovered 05/09/2019. The weakness was presented 07/30/2019 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2019-10129 since 03/27/2019. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The successful exploitation requires a authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1592 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 82 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 197455 (Ubuntu Security Notification for Postgresql-10, Postgresql-11, Postgresql-9.5 Vulnerabilities (USN-3972-1)).
