Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the file Calendar/calendar_popup_ajax.php of the component Edit Calendar. The manipulation of the argument cal_id as part of a Parameter leads to a sql injection vulnerability (Time-Based). The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. REDCap before 9.3.0 allows time-based SQL injection in the edit calendar event via the cal_id parameter, such as cal_id=55 and sleep(3) to Calendar/calendar_popup_ajax.php. The attacker can obtain a user's login sessionid from the database, and then re-login into REDCap to compromise all data.

The weakness was published 08/17/2019 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at evms.edu. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2019-14937 since 08/11/2019. The attack can be launched remotely. A single authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
