A vulnerability classified as critical was found in FusionPBX 4.4.8. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file service_edit.php. The manipulation as part of a System Command leads to a command injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-77. FusionPBX 4.4.8 allows an attacker to execute arbitrary system commands by submitting a malicious command to the service_edit.php file (which will insert the malicious command into the database). To trigger the command, one needs to call the services.php file via a GET request with the service id followed by the parameter a=start to execute the stored command.
The weakness was disclosed 09/05/2019. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-15029 since 08/14/2019. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. A single authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1202.
