In checkAccess of SliceManagerService.java in Android 9, there is a possible permissions check bypass due to incorrect order of arguments. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is needed for exploitation.
The weakness was presented 09/05/2019. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2019-2175 since 12/10/2018. An attack has to be approached locally. A single authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1222 for this issue.
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem.
