A vulnerability has been found in CODESYS V3 up to 3.5.14.9 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the component Web Server. The manipulation as part of a HTTPS Request leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
CODESYS V3 web server, all versions prior to 3.5.14.10, allows an attacker to send specially crafted http or https requests which may allow access to files outside the restricted working directory of the controller.
The weakness was disclosed 09/13/2019. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-13532 since 07/11/2019. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1006.
Upgrading to version 3.5.14.10 eliminates this vulnerability.
