A vulnerability was found in tcpdump up to 4.9.2 (Packet Analyzer Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function smb_fdata of the file smbutil.c of the component SMB Parser. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a recursion vulnerability. The SMB parser in tcpdump before 4.9.3 has stack exhaustion in smbutil.c:smb_fdata() via recursion.
