A vulnerability was found in Mirabilis ICQ 2001b/2002a/2003a (Messaging Software). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown part of the component Authentication Handler. ICQ99 ICQ web server build 1701 with "Active Homepage" enabled generates allows remote attackers to determine the existence of files on the server by comparing server responses when a file exists ("404 Forbidden") versus when a file does not exist ("404 not found").
The bug was discovered 05/01/1999. The weakness was presented 07/07/2003 by Cauã Moura Prado as not defined posting (Bugtraq). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com.
