A vulnerability was found in Adobe Acrobat Reader up to 2015.006.30503/2017.011.30148/2019.012.20040 (Document Reader Software). It has been rated as critical. Adobe Acrobat and Reader versions , 2019.012.20040 and earlier, 2017.011.30148 and earlier, 2017.011.30148 and earlier, 2015.006.30503 and earlier, and 2015.006.30503 and earlier have a heap overflow vulnerability. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution .

The weakness was released 10/15/2019 as APSB19-49 as confirmed security bulletin (Website). The advisory is shared for download at helpx.adobe.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2019-8197. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
