Details
A vulnerability was found in Apple Mac OS X up to 10.4 (Operating System) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown part of the component Bluetooth Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality, and integrity. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in the Bluetooth file and object exchange (OBEX) services in Mac OS X 10.3.9 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files.
