The issue has been introduced in 05/15/1997. The weakness was presented 01/24/1999 by eEye Digital Security with eEye Digital Security as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-1999-1544. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
