A vulnerability has been found in CHICKEN up to 4.8.0.0 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects the function select of the component Thread Scheduler. The manipulation as part of a File Descriptor leads to a buffer overflow vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-120. The product copies an input buffer to an output buffer without verifying that the size of the input buffer is less than the size of the output buffer, leading to a buffer overflow. Buffer overflow in the thread scheduler in Chicken before 4.8.0.1 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) by opening a file descriptor with a large integer value.
