A vulnerability was found in Patriot Viper RGB up to 1.0. It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function ZwOpenSection/ZwMapViewOfSection in the library MsIo64.sys of the component Driver. The MsIo64.sys and MsIo32.sys drivers in Patriot Viper RGB before 1.1 allow local users (including low integrity processes) to read and write to arbitrary memory locations, and consequently gain NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM privileges, by mapping \Device\PhysicalMemory into the calling process via ZwOpenSection and ZwMapViewOfSection.
The bug was discovered 10/29/2018. The weakness was shared 11/09/2019. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-18845 since 11/09/2019. Local access is required to approach this attack.
