Microsoft Personal Web Server and FrontPage Personal Web Server in some Windows systems allows a remote attacker to read files on the server by using a nonstandard URL.
The weakness was released 03/01/1999 by kiborg as MS99-010 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared for download at technet.microsoft.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-1999-0386. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
