The ToolTalk ttsession daemon uses weak RPC authentication, which allows a remote attacker to execute commands.
The issue has been introduced in 08/12/1994. The weakness was presented 09/13/1999 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at www1.itrc.hp.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-1999-0687. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
