A vulnerability has been found in SuSE Openstack Cloud 8 (Cloud Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the file /etc/keystone/user-project-map.json of the component keystone-json-assignment Package. The keystone-json-assignment package in SUSE Openstack Cloud 8 before commit d7888c75505465490250c00cc0ef4bb1af662f9f every user listed in the /etc/keystone/user-project-map.json was assigned full "member" role access to every project. This allowed these users to access, modify, create and delete arbitrary resources, contrary to expectations.
The weakness was presented 01/17/2020 as Bug 1124864 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.suse.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-3683 since 01/03/2019. The attack can be initiated remotely. The requirement for exploitation is a single authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
