A vulnerability was found in Valve Dota up to 7.23. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects some unknown functionality in the library meshsystem.dll of the component Map Handler. meshsystem.dll in Valve Dota 2 before 7.23f allows remote attackers to achieve code execution or denial of service by creating a gaming server and inviting a victim to this server, because a crafted map is mishandled during a vulnerable function call.
The weakness was disclosed 01/27/2020. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2020-7950 since 01/24/2020. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. Upgrading to version 7.23f eliminates this vulnerability.
