A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Qt up to 5.14.1. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the component WebSocket. The manipulation as part of a Messages leads to a memory allocation vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-789. The product allocates memory based on an untrusted, large size value, but it does not ensure that the size is within expected limits, allowing arbitrary amounts of memory to be allocated. In Qt through 5.14.1, the WebSocket implementation accepts up to 2GB for frames and 2GB for messages. Smaller limits cannot be configured. This makes it easier for attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption).
