A vulnerability was found in Chadha PHPKB Standard Multi-Language 9 (Knowledge Base Software). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file admin/imagepaster/operations.php. The manipulation of the argument crdir as part of a GET Parameter leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Path Traversal in admin/imagepaster/operations.php in Chadha PHPKB Standard Multi-Language 9 allows attackers to delete any folder on the webserver using a dot-dot-slash sequence (../) via the GET parameter crdir, when the GET parameter action is set to df, causing a Denial of Service.
The weakness was presented 03/12/2020. This vulnerability was named CVE-2020-10458 since 03/12/2020. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
