A vulnerability has been found in Nosque MsgCore 1.9 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component Command Handler. The manipulation of the argument HELO/MAIL FROM/RCPT TO/DATA with an unknown input leads to a memory leak vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-401. Super Mail Transfer Package (SMTP), later called MsgCore, has a memory leak which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by repeating multiple HELO, MAIL FROM, RCPT TO, and DATA commands in the same session.
The weakness was published 01/13/2000 by FIRST (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2000-0075. The exploitation appears to be easy.
