Affected is an unknown code block in the library /_vti_bin/shtml.dll of the component Frontpage Server Extensions. Frontpage Server Extensions allows remote attackers to determine the name of the anonymous account via an RPC POST request to shtml.dll in the /_vti_bin/ virtual directory.
The issue has been introduced in 05/15/1997. The weakness was published 02/02/2000. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2000-0114. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
