A vulnerability was found in ProVide up to 13.1. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown part of the file /ajax/ImportCertificate. The manipulation of the argument fileName as part of a Certificate leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. An issue was discovered in ProVide (formerly zFTPServer) through 13.1. /ajax/ImportCertificate allows an attacker to load an arbitrary certificate in .pfx format or overwrite arbitrary files via the fileName parameter.
