A vulnerability was found in Qmail up to 1.0.3 on 64-bit (Mail Server Software). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is the function commands of the file commands.c. Integer signedness error in the qmail_put and substdio_put functions in qmail, when running on 64 bit platforms with a large amount of virtual memory, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via a large number of SMTP RCPT TO commands.
The bug was discovered 05/06/2005. The weakness was presented 05/31/2005 by Georgi Guninski (Website). The advisory is available at guninski.com.
