A vulnerability has been found in Spring Cloud Config up to 2.1.8/2.2.2 (Cloud Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality of the component spring-cloud-config-server. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Spring Cloud Config, versions 2.2.x prior to 2.2.3, versions 2.1.x prior to 2.1.9, and older unsupported versions allow applications to serve arbitrary configuration files through the spring-cloud-config-server module. A malicious user, or attacker, can send a request using a specially crafted URL that can lead to a directory traversal attack.
The weakness was presented 06/02/2020 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at tanzu.vmware.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2020-5410 since 01/03/2020.
