Kibana versions before 6.8.9 and 7.7.0 contains a stored XSS flaw in the TSVB visualization. An attacker who is able to edit or create a TSVB visualization could allow the attacker to obtain sensitive information from, or perform destructive actions, on behalf of Kibana users who edit the TSVB visualization.
The weakness was disclosed 06/03/2020. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2020-7015 since 01/14/2020. The attack may be initiated remotely. The successful exploitation requires a simple authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Upgrading to version 6.8.9 or 7.7.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
