Privilege Escalation vulnerability in Microsoft Windows client (McTray.exe) in McAfee VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) 8.8 prior to Patch 14 may allow local users to interact with the On-Access Scan Messages - Threat Alert Window with elevated privileges via running McAfee Tray with elevated privileges.
The weakness was released 06/10/2020 (Website). The advisory is shared at kc.mcafee.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2019-3585 since 01/03/2019. The exploitation is known to be difficult. An attack has to be approached locally. A simple authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
