A vulnerability was found in MIT Kerberos 4.0/5 1.0/5 1.1/5 1.1.1 (Network Authentication Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function process_v4. The manipulation of the argument localrealm with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Buffer overflow in Kerberos 4 KDC program allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via the localrealm variable in the process_v4 function.
