Details
A vulnerability was found in SGI MIPSPro Compiler 7.1/7.2.1 on IRIX and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the file /tmp of the component Temporary File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
SGI MIPSPro compilers C, C++, F77 and F90 generate temporary files in /tmp with predictable file names, which could allow local users to insert malicious contents into these files as they are being compiled by another user.
