Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Red Hat Ceph Storage RadosGW 3.x/4.x. Affected is an unknown part of the component CORS ExposeHeader Tag Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a response splitting vulnerability (Header Injection). CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-113. The product receives data from an HTTP agent/component (e.g., web server, proxy, browser, etc.), but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes CR and LF characters before the data is included in outgoing HTTP headers. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

A flaw was found in the Red Hat Ceph Storage RadosGW (Ceph Object Gateway). The vulnerability is related to the injection of HTTP headers via a CORS ExposeHeader tag. The newline character in the ExposeHeader tag in the CORS configuration file generates a header injection in the response when the CORS request is made. Ceph versions 3.x and 4.x are vulnerable to this issue.

The weakness was shared 06/26/2020 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2020-10753 since 03/20/2020. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
