Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part of the file SystemEvent.jsp of the component Management System. The manipulation of the argument resourceName with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in McAfee IntruShield Security Management System allow remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) thirdMenuName or (2) resourceName parameter to SystemEvent.jsp.
The bug was discovered 07/06/2005. The weakness was published 07/07/2005 by c0ntex (Website). The advisory is shared at derkeiler.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2005-2186 since 07/10/2005. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
