The LCF component (lcfd) in IBM Tivoli Management Framework Endpoint allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (process exit and connection loss) by connecting to LCF and ending the connection without sending any data.
The bug was discovered 07/11/2005. The weakness was shared 07/08/2005 with NISCC (National Infrastructure Security Coordinati (Website). The advisory is shared at www-1.ibm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2005-2170 since 07/07/2005. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
