A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in libX11 up to 1.6.9. Affected is an unknown code block of the component XIM Client. An integer overflow leading to a heap-buffer overflow was found in The X Input Method (XIM) client was implemented in libX11 before version 1.6.10. As per upstream this is security relevant when setuid programs call XIM client functions while running with elevated privileges. No such programs are shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
The weakness was presented 08/05/2020 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2020-14344 since 06/17/2020.
