A vulnerability was found in Symantec I-gear 3.5/3.5.7. It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the component URL Logger. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. I-gear 3.5.7 and earlier does not properly process log entries in which a URL is longer than 255 characters, which allows an attacker to cause reporting errors.
