A memory corruption vulnerability exists in InDesign 15.1.1 (and earlier versions). Insecure handling of a malicious indd file could be abused to cause an out-of-bounds memory access, potentially resulting in code execution in the context of the current user.
The weakness was disclosed 09/08/2020 by Kexu Wang with Fortinet FortiGuard Labs as APSB20-52 as confirmed security bulletin (Website). The advisory is shared at helpx.adobe.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with Adobe. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2020-9728. The attack may be initiated remotely.
