This article discloses critical vulnerabilities in IPTV/H.264/H.265 video encoders based on HiSilicon hi3520d hardware.This vulnerability was named CVE-2020-24218. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
A public exploit has been developed by Alexei Kojenov and been published immediately after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at kojenov.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k. The real existence of this vulnerability is still doubted at the moment.
