The web interface for Lotus Notes mail automatically processes HTML in an attachment without prompting the user to save or open it, which makes it easier for remote attackers to conduct web-based attacks and steal cookies.
The bug was discovered 06/06/2005. The weakness was disclosed 07/14/2005 by Shalom Carmel (Website). The advisory is available at www-1.ibm.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2005-2175 since 07/09/2005. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
