A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Cat Soft Serv-U 3.0.0.16 (File Transfer Software). This vulnerability affects an unknown code block. The manipulation with the input value <url>/..%20. leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. Directory traversal vulnerability in FTP Serv-U before 2.5i allows remote attackers to escape the FTP root and read arbitrary files by appending a string such as "/..%20." to a CD command, a variant of a .. (dot dot) attack.
The weakness was disclosed 12/05/2000 by Zoa_Chien (Website). The advisory is available at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2001-0054. The exploitation appears to be easy.
