A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, has been found in Omnicron OmniHTTPD 2.0.7 (Web Server). This issue affects an unknown code of the file statsconfig.pl. The manipulation of the argument mostbrowsers with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-269. statsconfig.pl in OmniHTTPd 2.07 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands via the mostbrowsers parameter, whose value is used as part of a generated Perl script.
The weakness was disclosed 03/12/2001 (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2001-0113. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known.
