A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Apple macOS up to 11.1 (Operating System). This issue affects an unknown functionality of the component WebRTC. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a redirect vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-601. A web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a Redirect. This simplifies phishing attacks. The impact remains unknown.
The weakness was released 02/01/2021 by Gregory Vishnepolsky and Ben Seri as HT212147 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2021-1799. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1204.001 for this issue. The advisory points out:
