A vulnerability has been found in Horde IMP up to 2.2.5 (Groupware Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code of the component JavaScript Handler. Cross-site scripting vulnerability in Horde Internet Messaging Program (IMP) before 2.2.6 and 1.2.6 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary Javascript embedded in an email.
The weakness was disclosed 07/21/2001 by Nick Cleaton with Horde (Website). The advisory is shared at debian.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2001-1257. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
