A vulnerability has been found in Apple Safari up to 14.0.2 (Web Browser) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component WebRTC. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a redirect vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-601. A web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a Redirect. This simplifies phishing attacks. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was disclosed 02/01/2021 by Gregory Vishnepolsky and Ben Seri as confirmed advisory (Website). This vulnerability was named CVE-2021-1799 since 12/08/2020. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack needs to be initiated within the local network. A single authentication is needed for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1204.001.
