A vulnerability was found in PhpMyExplorer up to 1.2. It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the file index.php of the component Explorer. The manipulation of the argument chemin with the input value ..%2F leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in index.php in PhpMyExplorer before 1.2.1 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a ..%2F (modified dot dot) in the chemin parameter.
