A vulnerability was found in Arcadia Internet Store 1.0 and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code in the library tradecli.dll. The manipulation of the argument template with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in tradecli.dll in Arcadia Internet Store 1.0 allows a remote attacker to read arbitrary files on the web server via a URL with "dot dot" sequences in the template argument.
The weakness was published 09/20/2001 by ViPeR as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2001-0705.
