A vulnerability was found in Bisonware Bison FTP Server V4R1 (File Transfer Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown function of the component BDL File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a symlink vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-61. The product, when opening a file or directory, does not sufficiently account for when the file is a symbolic link that resolves to a target outside of the intended control sphere. BisonFTP V4R1 allows local users to access directories outside of their home directory by uploading .bdl files, which can then be linked to other directories.
