Internet Explorer 5.5 and 6.0 allow remote attackers to read certain files via HTML that passes information from a frame in the client s domain to a frame in the web site s domain, a variant of the "Frame Domain Verification" vulnerability.

The issue has been introduced in 07/08/2000. The weakness was released 12/13/2001 with Microsoft as MS01-058 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared at microsoft.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2001-0874. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
