A vulnerability was found in GNU Mailman 5.0/5.1/6.0/7.0 (Mail Client Software). It has been classified as critical. Affected is some unknown processing of the component Authentication. Cross-site scripting vulnerability in Mailman email archiver before 2.08 allows attackers to obtain sensitive information or authentication credentials via a malicious link that is accessed by other web users.
The bug was discovered 11/28/2001. The weakness was disclosed 12/21/2001 with isec as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2001-0884. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
