Squid 2.5.STABLE10 and earlier, while performing NTLM authentication, does not properly handle certain request sequences, which allows attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon restart).

The bug was discovered 09/30/2005. The weakness was presented 09/30/2005 by Mike Diggins (Website). The advisory is available at squid-cache.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2005-2917 since 09/15/2005. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1499 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
